Our 'Understanding Pet Bereavement' course covers the emotional aspects of pet bereavement, we also look at how specific groups deal with pet bereavement, euthanasia and the aftercare options available to pet carers. The course consists of 5 modules, (details below) and a final coursework exercise.
Module 1 - Counselling v's Support / Human Animal Bond
Module 2 - Grieving
Module 3 - How Children & the Elderly cope with Pet Loss
Module 4 - Suffering v's Pain / Euthanasia
Module 5 - Aftercare
Each module consists of a brief overview of the subject matter followed by a number of questions related to that subject. The aim is to guide and direct each student towards the correct research into the subject, putting the onus on the student to show a full and complete understanding of the subject.
Each student will learn and complete modules at their own pace, some will complete their work quicker than others, and we don't dictate a timescale for each module however we estimate that each module should take about 1 month to complete.
This course is 'roll on roll off' so you can start at any time.
